What I am thankful for most in my life is my grandparents, they took me in when no one else could and without them I would  probably be in foster care. I also really enjoy the internet, its my life. My phone is my child and I love it. Tacos are very important too. My little sisters are amazing and so much like me in some ways it scares me. My bed is also so important ( I mean who likes sleeping on the floor am I right?). I AM REALLY THANKFUL FOR FOOD.  My friends are some of the most important people ever so thank you Madison, Zoe, Bailey, Grace E., Grace S., Emma, Rosie, and sooooooooooooooooooo many more. Just thank you for giving me a reason to smile I love you all :-). Happy thanksgiving!!!!!!

(p.s. I am really thankful for my dog too even if she’s a pain in the rear sometimes.)

Mr. Underwood

Racism in the Deep South. The small town of Maycomb Alabama is full of it. It was just last night when I heard rustling outside my window and decided to investigate and what I saw was shocking. There was a mob of men standing in front of the county jail house trying to get around my good friend Atticus Finch who was guarding it. They seemed to be trying to get to Mr. Finches client Tom Robinson, who was in the jail on accused rape by a white women by the name of Mayella Ewell.

This was no surprise considering most men believe that if a black man were to even look at a white woman in a lustful way they were to be killed, but why do we do this? If the accuser would have been a black woman then men would have probably turned a blind eye. I believe this was going too far.  I even knew the men who were trying to kill them and I’m sure Atticus and they knew each other too. They were so adamant on killing the man they were going to hurt a friend if possible. Being the loyal friend I am I pulled out my shotgun if a warning shot was needed. When all of a sudden Atticus’s young daughter (I believe she goes by Scout) jumped into the streetlamp followed by her brother (Jem) and their friend (Dill). The men were startled to say the least, they began to talk and Scout once kicked one of the men in the genitals. After a long talk and Atticus’s pleas for the children to return home the men left. Had it not been for the children things could have turned ugly. This is a problem and a big one at that. The men were going to kill Mr. Robinson and hurt a friend if they had to. I get that they believed they were doing the right thing in their eyes but do you? Would you hurt a friend if it meant revenge for something that hadn’t even been proven?

C: Mamie Mobley decided to leave her sons casket open at his funeral to let everyone see what had been done to him. I believe this was her controversial decision because Emmett’s body was mangled beyond recognition and to let the public see was just outstanding. This also led to the pictures of her son online/in the news where Keith Beauchamp stumbled upon it and then pushed to have the case re-opened.

D: I think Mamie thought the idea was ridiculous and her exact words were ” ‘Keith, you’re about to grab a rattlesnake by the tail,’ “. This means she is telling him this is a crazy idea, and something not many people would do. I believe Mamie thinks nothing was going to change.

F: He doesn’t seem to like it because when asked about Mr. Beauchamp is words were “I’ve met him.” which doesn’t sound good. also during the making of Keith Beauchamp’s film Keith says that “its a competitive issue.” and that he doesn’t want to talk bad about Mr. Nelson who was a documentarian himself and was in the process of making a documentary at the time.

My first crush was on a kid named Johnny in first grade. I liked him because he was the oldest and tallest kid in class, he had blue eyes, a large kellick in his blonde hair and I think some freckles. I recall one day doing a numbered coloring sheet and we sat at a table away from the other kids, I remember his coloring being so much better than mine and while we were both using the purple colored crayon I leaned over and kissed his cheek. His faced durned red and his only response was “no kissing”. That is all I remember about him, but I know he was my little 5 year olds self’s heart throb. I’m pretty sure that when I kissed him he realized I liked him so I guess that’s how I told him.

About me

Hey! My name name is Kerina Pollitt™. I enjoy long romantic walks to the fridge and Disney movies. As of September 2016 I am 14 years old and a Freshman at Western Brown high-school. My favorite things to pass the time are: Watching Netflix, playing on my phone (probably Tumblr or Instagram kerina_lynn add me *wink wink nudge nudge*) I also read quite a lot mostly fantasy or realistic fiction, whatever catches my eye. If you know me even the slightest you know I enjoy puns, ESPECIALLY the bad ones. I live with my grandparents and have two sisters who as of may 2016 are 10 year old twins, named Kiersten and Kylee, they live with my other grandparents and I would sell my soul for them so if you want to hurt them in any way possible I will string you from the ceiling by your toenails… JUST KIDDING maybe. My favorite color is this exact purple or this exact blue. I spend about 95% of my life on the internet the other 5% is school and etc. Now its time for facts no one cares about!!! I want to travel the world. I can fit my fist in my mouth. I own 2-maybe three- pairs of matching socks. I have a strange collection of stuffed animals on my bed, (including a rainbow bear my sister got me). I have curly and unruly hair. My eyes have been compaired to black-holes (thanks zoehurst). I am loud and I feel bad for anyone within 3 feet of me when I’m happy or excited. This is literally the stupidest thing I’ve done with my free time omg.
